What is an Actuator Valve?
An actuator valve is a combination of a valve body (ball, butterfly, globe, or gate valve) and a motorised or pneumatic actuator that provides the torque or force necessary to open and close the valve remotely, without manual intervention.
Types of Valve Actuators
Electric Actuator
Powered by an electric motor. Can be configured for on/off (open/close) or modulating (proportional) control. Widely used in Qatar\’s BMS-controlled HVAC and water systems. Requires only electrical cabling — no pneumatic supply needed.
Pneumatic Actuator
Powered by compressed air or instrument air. Fast acting and reliable. The preferred choice for process control in Qatar\’s oil and gas and petrochemical plants. Available in spring-return (fail-safe open or closed) configurations.
Hydraulic Actuator
Powered by hydraulic fluid. Provides very high torque for large, high-pressure valves. Used for large pipeline isolation valves in oil and gas facilities.

- Modulating Control — 4-20mA or 0-10V analogue signal for proportional position control
