Description
A butterfly valve uses a rotating disc mounted on a shaft to control flow. When the disc is rotated 90 degrees from closed to open, it presents a thin profile to the flow, minimising obstruction. Butterfly valves are lighter, more compact, and less expensive than gate or ball valves of equivalent size, making them ideal for large diameter pipework (50mm and above).
