How Does a Screw Compressor Work?
A rotary screw compressor uses two interlocking helical rotors (male and female screws) that rotate in opposite directions. As the rotors turn, air is drawn into the inlet, trapped between the rotor lobes and the housing, and progressively compressed as it travels along the length of the rotors before being discharged at the outlet at the required pressure.
This continuous rotary action — with no reciprocating pistons or valves — delivers smooth, pulse-free compressed air with very low vibration and noise levels.
